Border information VL-NL
The overall objective of this project was to promote cross-border labor mobility in the border region. Indeed, despite the good relations between Flanders and the Netherlands, there are many practical obstacles in terms of legislation and regulations that hinder cross-border mobility. The project therefore focused on the development of a uniform and umbrella information network for border workers in order to better and more efficiently match labor demand and supply of personnel in the border region.

TUA West’s activity “Cross-border training and internship opportunities” aimed to encourage cross-border mobility among higher education students. After all, making students aware of opportunities on the other side of the border even before they enter the labor market promotes future labor market mobility.
TUA therefore developed a higher education expert network to create the preconditions for a cross-border education and internship offer between the provinces of West Flanders and Zeeland. From this expert network, the note “bottlenecks of cross-border study and internship” was drafted, which was submitted as a policy input to various Flemish and Dutch policy bodies.
With a few communication actions, we sensitized students to mobility in the border region: a promotional video and two brochures on study and internship in West Flanders and Zeeland: Studying in Zeeland – Study Internship.
